I designed the Natural Mini Pool because I fell in love with a simple idea: having a compact, biological plunge pool right in my own garden. I wanted the ultimate luxury of stepping into crystal-clear water that is kept pure and alive naturally by plants, stones, and micro-organisms.To me, there is nothing like the feeling of creating something beautiful with your own hands. The real magic is in the process—understanding how the biology works, putting the pieces together, and watching your own micro-ecosystem come to life.I built version 3 for my own garden purely for the fun of making and experimenting. After sharing the results, the incredible response made me realize we can do this together. That is how this journey started. My dream is to make this unique experience accessible to everyone who loves to build and wants a peaceful, natural water retreat at home.

How It Works

Low Energy, High Biology: The Magic of the EcosystemThe Natural Mini Pool is a carefully designed 1,500L system with a nested 500L plunge zone. It keeps itself stable and crystal-clear by mimicking how a natural mountain stream purifies water.Here is how we keep the system running beautifully:The Living Filter: Water gently circulates through a biological filter bed of lava stones and aquatic plants. The plants absorb nutrients, and the stones host the helpful micro-organisms that naturally prevent algae. One of the most exciting parts of our community will be experimenting together to see which specific aquatic plants thrive best in different climates and conditions.The Low-Energy Airlift: Instead of using traditional water pumps or high-voltage electronics, the entire circulation runs on a single, super-efficient 30-watt air pump. It uses rising air bubbles to lift, move, and continuously oxygenate the water.Compact Luxury: It is designed to fit comfortably in almost any garden size, giving you a private, natural swimming spot without needing a massive construction project.

Everything You Need to Build Your Own

To make the building process as fun and smooth as possible, I am preparing a first batch of DIY starter kits. Because I am making these parts myself, I am starting small with a first run of about 100 kits for the first wave of makers.You don’t have to worry about sourcing or engineering the complex, technical parts. The kit will include:3D-Printed Plumbing: Custom-designed internal plumbing parts that house the air bubble tubes to power the low-energy airlift circulation system.3D-Printed Plant Hangers: Custom hangers that screw directly into the container, allowing you to easily hang standard plant baskets at the exact right height.Full-Scale Paper Templates: Precision patterns so you can easily cut and build your own timber frame wood panels at home.The Complete Build Guide: A detailed step-by-step assembly manual showing you exactly how to position the containers, set the perfect water heights, and build with confidence. And of course which plants works best in your climate.
